James "JT" Richardson
"Life has a way of reminding us what truly matters — and who truly depends on us."
I come from the same kinds of families I now protect — teachers, truckers, farmers, veterans, and blue‑collar workers. My father spent 35 years as a union worker in the airline industry. My mother spent 27 years teaching children and devoted her life to serving her community — from her farm roots to a lifetime of patriotic service, supporting veterans through DAR, and first responders. And my grandfather, a WWI Marine, taught me commitment, trustworthiness, and what it meant to stand steady when life gets hard — lessons I learned working on his farm every summer. Those values shaped me long before my career did — and they guide how I serve families today.
After earning my Economics degree, I spent years in financial services — trust work, wealth management, and retirement planning inside Fortune 500 institutions. But when COVID hit, everything changed. My own family faced the kind of confusion and financial strain that happens when insurance planning is incomplete — the kind most people never think about until it’s too late. It wasn’t until I stepped into their estate settlement that I saw the gaps firsthand and the lack of clarity about what came next. Navigating probate and final expenses alone gave me a practical, lived understanding of what families actually face. It reshaped my professional mission. It made the work personal.
Today, I use that experience — along with my earlier financial background — to help everyday folks protect their home, eliminate debt, build a retirement they can count on, organize their affairs, and avoid the chaos I had to navigate. I bring a unique view of what works and what doesn’t, and I measure every recommendation against one standard: would I do this for my own family.
My commitment to educating people comes from my mother, who believed knowledge was the greatest gift you could give someone. I carry that forward every day. My focus is simple: bring clarity to what your options are, what they actually do, and how to make confident decisions that protect the people who depend on you. When you understand your choices, you remove the anxiety, avoid the uncertainty, and stay prepared for whatever life brings — instead of reacting to it. Protecting others is one of the most meaningful things we can do, and my priority is to help you protect what matters most and build the future you want for your family.
Running the probate gauntlet lit a frustration I couldn’t ignore. Insurance had become too complicated and too disconnected from the real people it was supposed to protect. Retirement planning felt too corporate — too focused on products, not on helping a nest egg support someone’s lifestyle for 20, 30, or even 40 years. Everyday families are being left behind — confused, overwhelmed, and stuck in debt, the #1 financial concern in America.
I decided to do something about it.
Main Street deserved better. Not a call center, not a phone tree — real guidance, real conversations, real help. A community‑based advisor — for everyday people, young couples, parents, retirees and pre‑retirees, business owners, self‑employed professionals, and anyone who simply wants to protect the people they love. And this community is home. My wife grew up here. I went to school here. We raised our family here. I’ve got you — with the same personal touch that corporate America forgot.
Trustworthy Financial was founded by Michael Hall in August of 2011. As a USMC veteran, a firefighter, and a father, Michael knows how to fight for what he cares about. This agency was built on a simple but powerful idea: that people deserve to feel confident and secure when it comes to their insurance. We saw too many people overwhelmed by jargon, pressured by sales tactics, or left confused about their coverage. We knew there had to be a better way — and we set out to create it.
Our journey started with a passion for serving others and a commitment to education. We wanted to be the kind of agency that leads with empathy, listens carefully, and puts people first. Over time, we’ve grown — but our values have never changed. Every client interaction is still a chance to earn trust and make a difference.
Whether we’re helping a senior choose the right Medicare plan or working with a young family to protect their future, we show up with the same energy, clarity, and care. Our story is about service, about people, and about building a legacy of support one family at a time.

We believe that insurance should be empowering, not overwhelming. It’s about more than paperwork and premiums — it’s about helping people feel safe, supported, and in control of their future. That’s why we take a personal, educational approach to everything we do.
We believe in clarity. We take the time to explain options in plain language, answer every question, and make sure you feel confident in your choices. You should never feel rushed or pressured — only supported and informed.
We believe in relationships. We don’t just help you get coverage — we stay connected. As your needs change, we’re here to review, update, and adjust your policies so they always fit your life. Our clients often become lifelong friends, and that’s something we’re proud of.
We believe in service. We’re here to help people, plain and simple. Whether you need guidance during a tough time or just someone to talk to about your options, we show up with integrity and heart.
Our clients come from all walks of life. We serve seniors looking for peace of mind, families planning for the future, individuals navigating life changes, and everyone in between. What they all have in common is a desire to feel secure, supported, and understood.
We work with people who are exploring insurance for the first time, as well as those who are re-evaluating their coverage after major life changes — like retirement, a new baby, or the loss of a loved one. Wherever you are in life, we meet you there and walk alongside you.
Our approach is personal. We listen closely, ask the right questions, and help you explore options that align with your goals and values. We know there’s no one-size-fits-all solution — and that’s what makes our work so meaningful.
If you’re looking for a partner who puts people first and makes your peace of mind the top priority, you’re in the right place.
